Annual International Business & Networking Evening

At our February 27, 2018 the GBANE theme was Protecting Your Crown Jewels:
Understanding cyber risk in the 21st century.

 

Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh opened the forum and updated attendees on his plans to encourage international business in the City. He presented a Proclamation which honors GBANE for its many years of support of international business endeavors and the impact this has had on international trade and relations in the City of Boston. Our event speakers and panelists provided insights and ways to deal with issues ranging from nation state hackers to compliance with the EU’s Global Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).event, our experts spoke about the critical Cyber Security issues facing businesses and how to be prepared. Malware with names like NotPetya (purporting to be ransomware), WannaCry, and Mirai can literally put firms out of business. It was the NotPetya cyberattack that caused billions of dollars in damage in the United States, Europe and Asia has been called “the most destructive and costly cyberattack in history.”
